What do I need to go on a quad bike ride?
Anyone is able to ride, no experience is necessary as full training and tuition is given before the trip commences.  No licence is required.  See question on age restrictions.

What is the minimum age for horse trekking and quad biking?
The minimum age for our quad bike trip is 16, unless experienced then minimum age of 14.  This will be at the guide's discretion as to the size and ability of the rider.  
The minimum age for horse trekking is 10 for Riding with The River and 6 for Up Hill and Down Dale.

What type of quad bikes do you have?
Our bike models are Honda TRX300, TRX350 and Suzuki Eiger 400

Will it get dark and will I be able to see the sunset?
This will depend on the time of year, in some months it will start to get dark at the end of the 4pm ride and you may see a beautiful sunset.  During the summer months (November - February) the rides will end well before dark.  If you are interested in a sunset ride in one of those months, please be in contact and we may be able to arrange a later ride.

How can I pay?
We accept cash or credit card at either site, we also have eftpos facilities available at our horse trek site.

What part of Lord of the Rings does your quad bike ride cover?
In the first movie of the trilogy 'Fellowship of the Ring' there is a scene called Flight to the Ford where Frodo, having been stabbed and grievously wounded by a morgul blade, is taken by Arwen on horseback to Rivendell to be healed.  Part of Arwen's ride is filmed on the ridge of our quad bike property overlooking the lake.

When should I book and what is your Cancellation policy?
Although we may be able to take your booking at short notice, to avoid disappointment we advise you book 24 hours or more in advance. 
Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund.  Due to the nature of our business, if cancellations are made within 2-24 hours we will retain a 10% cancellation fee.  No refund will be given in the event of less than 2 hours notice or for a no show.
Highride Adventures reserve the right to cancel or change any part of the ride in the case of adverse weather.  If for any event WE cancel the ride, you will receive a FULL refund.

Am I liable if I cause any damage during the quad bike ride?
There is an option of purchasing collision coverage for $15.  By purchasing this you will be insured against the cost of any damage you cause during your tour with Highride Adventures.  If you choose not to purchase collision coverage, you agree that any damage caused will be charged to you accordingly.

Do you give group discounts?
For large groups, one rider in every 10 will go free of charge.

Do you have child rates?
No, our rates are charged per rider regardless of age.

What do I need to bring?
On all of our trips it is important that you bring warm clothing as the weather can change very quickly.  Long trousers, a coat and make sure you dont forget your camera and your sense of adventure.  If you are horse riding you must be wearing sturdy covered shoes.
