Lord of the Rings

The start of Arwen's Ride was filmed on a ridge overlooking Te Anau, and our quad bike trail follows the exact same track.  It is a scene from 'The Fellowship of the Ring' where, while chased by the Nazgul, Frodo is taken by the elf Arwen to the Elven haven of Rivendell to be healed.  For those of you who are Lord of the Rings fans, it is instantly recognisable!  The 'Lord of the Rings Location Guidebook' by Ian Brodie pg 159 has an accurate description of the location BUT it's no longer only accessible by helicopter!
